Building Application

Office building and more

Within the framework of the research project 'PCM-Demo II' three different decentralized PCM storages were installed in the offices in Berlin. They are all based on the application of CSM cases. The principle is similar: these systems are all connected to the building's surroundings through an external air channel. Through this air channel an intake of cold air is performed which is then distributed over the CSM cases. As a result, the temperature of the cases decreases and in that way, cold is stored. When the room temperature raises again during the day due to internal or external loads, warm air rises up and is transferred through the cold CSM cases which is then cooled. The resulting air-conditioning in the offices is thus maintained by the transfer of cool air from the CSM cases.
